The Chief Executive Officer of VODEC Africa, Daniel Asomani, has outlined an ambitious roadmap to transform Ghana into the economic powerhouse of West Africa.
Speaking at the National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum (NELEF) 2025 in Accra, he unveiled what he described as a “Seven-Pillar Economic Plan: The Blueprint to Transform Ghana into West Africa’s Powerhouse.”
Addressing a distinguished audience of political leaders, business executives, and youth representatives, Mr. Asomani stressed that Ghana’s development has for too long been driven by short-term policies and fragmented initiatives.
This, he argued, has undermined sustainable growth and left the nation without a cohesive long-term vision.

“What Ghana needs now is an integrated national plan that unites our people and guides our development for decades to come,” he said.
The Seven Pillars of Transformation
Mr. Asomani’s blueprint focuses on seven core areas designed to unlock Ghana’s potential and reposition the country within the global economy.
These include:
- Digital Economy Revolution – positioning Ghana as West Africa’s digital hub.
- Agricultural Value Chain Transformation – ensuring food security and creating mass employment.
- Manufacturing Regeneration – making Ghana the manufacturing hub for the AfCFTA.
- Tourism and Creative Industries Explosion – establishing Ghana as Africa’s cultural capital.
- Financial Technology Leadership – positioning Ghana as the fintech capital of Africa.
- Natural Resources Revolution – adding value to Ghana’s natural resources through industrialization.
- Human Capital Maximization – investing in the Ghanaian people as the nation’s greatest resource.
“This is not just a collection of policies,” Mr. Asomani emphasized. “It is an integrated plan for national transformation. Each pillar supports and reinforces the others, creating a powerful synergy that will propel Ghana to new heights of prosperity.”

A Call for Unity and Commitment
Mr. Asomani’s address ended with a strong appeal for national unity. He urged Ghana’s leaders to set aside partisan divisions and rally behind the seven-pillar plan, while calling on citizens to embrace the vision and play their role in building a prosperous future.
“With a shared vision, a comprehensive plan, and a united national effort, Ghana can become the economic powerhouse of West Africa and a beacon of hope and prosperity for the entire continent.”
