Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew was in attendance at the burial service for two of the eight personalities who perished in the helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.
The deceased individuals who were buried are Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Dr Murtala Mohammed, and Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed.
In a viral video on X, the former Olympique Marseille player looked emotional as he sat among the dignitaries, filled with sorrow as he commiserated with the bereaved family.
Ayew was wearing a black shirt with a Taqiyah to join the Muslim community in paying their last respects to the dignified personalities who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The ceremony, held at the Forecourt of the State House on August 10, 2025, was attended by many government officials, including President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Speaker Alban Bagbin, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene, Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu, and many others.
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, led the Janazah prayers, asking God to give them a peaceful rest in His bosom.
