The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has set its sights on reaching the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, its communications director has revealed.

Speaking to 3Sports, Henry Asante Twum said, “It’s our dream to make it all the way to the final. We want to qualify from the group, advance to the next stage, reach the quarter-finals, then the semis, and ultimately make it to the final.”

Ghana will be making its fifth World Cup appearance in June at the tournament hosted jointly by Canada, the USA, and Mexico.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group I, where they will face Panama, 1966 champions England, and 2018 finalists Croatia.

Ahead of the World Cup, Ghana will play Austria in Vienna on March 27 before traveling to Stuttgart to face Germany on March 30, 2026. Notably, Austria’s squad includes Kevin Danso, who is of Ghanaian descent.

Ghana will conclude its World Cup preparations with an international friendly against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on June 2, 2026.
