Dear GhanaWeb: I helped him become successful, but he left me for another woman

Dear GhanaWeb,

I’m a 32-year-old woman. For the past 10 years, I’ve been in a relationship with a man I thought was my destiny partner; he is a pastor and a man I believed God had brought into my life.

He’s 10 years older than I. When I met him, he had absolutely nothing but a vision. No church, no congregation but I stood by him through thick and thin. I prayed and fasted with him. I sowed into the ministry, not just financially but invested my time and everything.

By God’s grace, the ministry has grown. The church is doing so well; he’s making a lot of money. He’s now living the reality of the luxurious life we dreamed about together.

But guess what? He’s saying I can’t walk with him into his future. He said I’m not part of God’s plan for the next chapter of his life. 10 years of building with him, why didn’t the Holy Spirit tell him back then that I can’t join him to his destination? Why now?

He now says he will compensate me. After all the sacrifices and he wants to reduce it to money? What is even more worrying to me is this new lady who just joined the church. Something didn’t feel right the moment I saw her.

One day, I took my boyfriend’s phone although I’ve never done that before and I saw his messages to this new lady, their plans as well as their late night calls. They are planning to get married.

Everyone in my church knows he is my fiancé. Now another woman is coming to reap the harvest I laboured for. My boyfriend says the Holy Spirit directed this new lady to him. How can he do this to me?

I’m so hurt and feel betrayed. I really don’t understand all this. I’ve really suffered and he knows it. I deeply love this man and I don’t know what to do.

I feel used and broken. He’s not even feeling remorseful about what he has done to me. It’s clear he’s no more in love with me. What should I do?
