Bright Aweh has appeared before the Kaneshie District Court over the alleged murder of Ghana Immigration Service officer, Stephen King Amoah.
Aweh, also known as Robert or Highest Bright, faces a provisional charge of murder. His plea was not taken, and he was remanded into police custody to reappear on August 8, 2025.
Chief Inspector Apewa Achana, leading the prosecution, requested the remand to allow for further investigations.
Mr Amoah went missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estates.
His charred body was discovered days later in a drain at Aboum Junction near Kwabenya.
Aweh, believed to be the last person in contact with the deceased, was subsequently arrested by the police.
Family members of the deceased were present in court in red and black attire bearing the inscription Justice for Stephen King Amoah, and expressed anger during the proceedings.
A friend of the deceased, Mr Gamel Abubakar, praised the Ghana Police Service for its thorough investigation into the case.
