General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Dr Rev Cyril GK Fayose, has stated that a recent directive that all prophecies and spiritual insights be delivered to the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations is vague.
Speaking to TV3 on August 11, he indicated that while they clergy appreciates the presidencys willingness to collaborate with them on sensitive matters bothering on prophecies, the directive does not expressly state details on the approach and the scope.
He consequently, called for further engagements to fully operationalise the content of the statement.
The presidency needs further engagement with the Christian Council to clarify details on the directive issued in the statement circulated on Sunday August 10, 2025, he said.
The directive which was shared by the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations on August 10, 2025, said, On behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and the Office of the Presidential Envoy, I extend heartfelt appreciation to you and your various denominations for your unwavering spiritual support, intercessory prayers, and sustained leadership in promoting peace, moral integrity, and national unity. Your role in Ghana’s spiritual and civic life remains indispensable.
As part of strengthening national coordination on spiritual matters, especially in these times of uncertainty and complexity, we kindly encourage you to inform all Prophets, Men and Women of God under your oversight that any prophecy or spiritual insight of a national nature, especially those with implications for high-profile political leaders, governance, national security, or public stability should be formally relayed to the Office of the Presidential Envoy for urgent review and appropriate escalation. This is in the spirit of responsibility, discernment, and stewardship over the nation’s destiny.
