Vice President Prof Opoku-Agyemang inaugurates three major projects at KNUST

Vice President Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, over the weekend, officially inaugurated three significant infrastructural projects at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing higher education and fostering innovation.

The new facilities include the KNUST Souvenir Shop, a modern Multipurpose Laboratory, and the KNUST Bottling Company.

The ceremony was attended by KNUST Chancellor His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as well as Vice Chancellor Prof. Rita Dickson.

Speaking at the event, the Vice President emphasised that the projects demonstrate the transformative potential of well-supported universities in driving national development.

She highlighted the role of the new facilities in improving teaching, learning, research, and entrepreneurship on campus.

“These initiatives are a testament to what becomes possible when our universities are empowered to innovate and excel. Government remains committed to providing institutions like KNUST with the infrastructure and tools necessary to stimulate economic growth and national progress,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said.

She further urged the university community to leverage these facilities to generate innovative solutions that address the country’s pressing challenges and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development agenda.
