GES urges calm, dismisses misconceptions about candidates' performance in 2025 WASSCE

The Ghana Education Service has appealed for a balanced national conversation on the 2025 WASSCE results, calling on the public to ignore “misconceptions” surrounding the performance of candidates.

GES emphasised that the results were credible and not the product of administrative shortcomings as suggested by critics.

“Management of GES views the 2025 WASSCE results as a true reflection of academic performance,” it said.

Looking ahead, the statement highlighted Ghana’s upcoming return to the international WASSCE, written by all West African countries in May/June 2026. GES urged candidates to take their studies seriously, adding, “Students must prepare very well for the examination.”

GES also pledged continued collaboration with stakeholders including school heads, teachers, parents, communities, civil society groups and WAEC to strengthen teaching, learning and examination credibility.

“GES will continue to work closely with all stakeholders… to improve teaching and learning and the integrity of the examination,” the statement concluded.
