The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has urged Turkish investors to take advantage of the new initiatives in the 2025 Budget and Economic Policy of the government to explore opportunities in Ghana and African markets.
According to him, the improvement in the economy is an indication that most of the programmes of the government will yield long-term benefits.
Kofi Adams was speaking at the 13th World Cooperation Industries Forum in Turkey. The two-day World Cooperation Industries (WCI) Forum was hosted in Turkey, bringing together Turkish and African business communities in Istanbul.
“We invite a lot of investors into recreation because there are a lot of opportunities for investments. Our flagship programmes under the resetting agenda was designed not just for Ghana but as a global model in the area of infrastructure, especially roads and health. Another area of key importance is Feed Ghana, which is focused on investments in agriculture, indicating that Ghana is open for business. Our micro economic policy provides clear guidance that our economy is rebounding and clearly so,” he noted.
With support from Access Bank and Litina Travels, more than 40 businesses participated in the two days forum in addition to industrial tours which provided more platform for Ghanaian businesses to engage their Turkish counterparts.
The president of the forum, Utku Bengisu, highlighted that the forum has helped Turkish products and technologies gain popularity across the African continent. “We are proud to have 450,000 Turkish companies in Africa in our database,” he noted.
He also emphasised that the focus on small- and medium-sized enterprises continues through events similar to the WCI Forum and with the support from the Turkish Trade Ministry, they are prioritising production and exports.
