‘I should have booked a larger venue for Bisa Kdei’ – Akwaaba UK CEO reveals

The CEO of Akwaaba UK, Dennis Tawiah, has revealed what he considers one of the biggest regrets of his career as a promoter and event manager.

In a recent interview on Konnected Minds, Tawiah admitted he wishes he had booked a larger venue for highlife star Bisa Kdei during one of the artist’s headline shows in the UK.

Having worked with top acts such as Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Daddy Lumba, Tawiah said the demand for Bisa Kdei, the hitmaker behind songs like “Mansa”, “Asew”, “Brother Brother”, and “Mon Bébé”, was unlike anything he had ever seen.

“No event in all my years as an international promoter sold out as fast as Bisa Kdei’s show,” he said. “Looking back, he could easily have filled the venue for two nights instead of just one.”

Bisa Kdei, widely celebrated as one of Africa’s leading highlife artistes, has built a loyal international fan base over more than a decade, extending his influence far beyond Ghana.

He is currently promoting his French-language single “Mon Bébé”, which has been well received among Francophone audiences and continues to gain traction across global streaming platforms.
