Afro-Arab Group partners with GNCCI to boost electric vehicle adoption in Ghana

The Afro-Arab Group of Companies, led by Founder and President Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Greater Accra Chapter of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) on Wednesday, March 11, during the Chamber’s 3rd Executive Business Meeting.

Held as part of Ghana Month celebrations under the theme “Ghana Month Business Showcase,” the meeting brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to explore opportunities for economic growth and collaboration.

During the event, the Chairman of GNCCI Greater Accra praised Ambassador Amadu and the Afro-Arab Group for supporting Ghana’s shift toward environmentally friendly transportation through the introduction of electric vehicles. He described the company’s approach to sustainable mobility as a major step toward reducing carbon emissions while modernising transport solutions in the country.

The Chairman also highlighted the Afro-Arab Group’s Work and Pay initiative, which allows young people to work with electric vehicles while gradually paying for them. He noted the programme’s role in addressing youth unemployment, calling it “a practical solution that empowers young people to earn a living while owning productive assets.”

In response, Ambassador Amadu expressed gratitude to GNCCI for the partnership, stressing the importance of collaboration among private sector organisations to advance national development.

“As a council member of the Chamber, it is my responsibility to ensure members benefit from opportunities created through such partnerships,” he said.

He explained that under the MoU, GNCCI members will gain access to electric vehicles through the Afro-Arab Group’s flexible financing plan, allowing them to acquire EVs and pay over 36 months interest-free.

“This partnership enables GNCCI members to adopt electric vehicles with manageable payment terms. It supports businesses while promoting environmentally friendly transportation,” Ambassador Amadu said, adding that the initiative aligns with the government’s push for green energy and sustainable transport.

The MoU is expected to strengthen business partnerships and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles across Ghana’s commercial sector, contributing to the country’s broader green transition agenda.
