Samartex and Oak Ladies Secure Survival in 2026/27 Women’s Premier League as Halifax and Soccer Intellectuals Relegated

Newly-promoted sides Samartex Ladies and Oak Ladies have confirmed their stay in the 2026/27 Women’s Premier League after crucial victories on matchday 16 of the Ghana Women’s top flight.

Both teams entered the weekend knowing a win would guarantee survival, and they delivered when it mattered most.

Oak Ladies staged a comeback to defeat defending champions Police Ladies at the Alajo Astro Turf, with goals from Gifty Addai Boakye and Evelyn Terkunor sealing a 2-1 win.

Meanwhile, Samartex Ladies edged past Jonina Ladies at home thanks to a late penalty converted by Catherine Arthur, securing a 2-1 victory for the Timber Giants.

With their wins, Samartex and Oak Ladies are safe for next season, while Soccer Intellectuals and Halifax will be relegated from the Southern Zone. Halifax fell 1-0 to Army Ladies, and Soccer Intellectuals were held to a goalless draw by LadyStrikers
