Deputy Chief Imam Praises Peaceful Ramadan, Calls for Unity and Reflection

The Deputy Chief Imam of the Akweley Central Mosque in the Awutu Senya East Municipality, Imam Sulemana Unus, has expressed gratitude to Allah for a peaceful and successful Ramadan fasting period, describing the holy month as a blessing.

Speaking after the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, Imam Unus noted that this year’s fasting period was marked by tranquility, allowing believers to observe their spiritual duties without incident.

“This year has been a blessing, and clearly the fasting was peaceful as well,” he said.

In his address, the Imam called on the Muslim community to unite and translate their prayers into action by embodying the core Islamic principles of peace, harmony, and unity.

He issued a special appeal to the youth, urging them to avoid negative behaviors such as reckless motorcycle riding, alcohol consumption, and fighting. Instead, he encouraged them to be ambassadors of peace and unity within their communities.

Imam Unus also called on the faithful to consistently include Ghana in their prayers, seeking blessings, wisdom, and peace for the nation, its citizens, and its leaders.

Describing the holy month as a period of sacrifice, discipline, and spiritual growth, his message praised believers for their steadfastness and devotion throughout the 30 days of fasting.

The Imam’s statement marked the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr not only as a moment of joy but also as an opportunity for reflection and renewed responsibility.

Meanwhile, some of the Muslim faithful who gathered to observe the final prayers expressed their gratitude to Allah for the strength and peace bestowed upon them during the fasting period. They noted that this year’s fasting was particularly peaceful and shared their belief that their prayers had already been answered with joy.
