Army Ladies Dominate Samartex Ladies, Advance to Women’s FA Cup Final

Army Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies will face off in the 2025/26 Women’s FA Cup final following their dominant performances in the semi-finals on Saturday, March 21.

The semi-final clashes, held at the Cape Coast Stadium, offered an electrifying atmosphere for fans, players, and supporters of women’s football.

In the first match, Army Ladies overcame Samartex Ladies with a convincing 5-1 victory. Despite a strong start from Samartex, Army Ladies struck first when Alamisi Atakaga scored from a set piece, giving the security side the lead heading into halftime.

Samartex responded 15 minutes into the second half through Ibinabo Alex Georgewill, who headed in from a corner to level the score. But Army Ladies quickly regained the lead just two minutes later when Zinatu Alhassan curled a free-kick over the wall, beating the Samartex goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

Samartex missed a golden opportunity from the penalty spot, a miss that proved costly as Army Ladies went on to dominate the remainder of the game. Linda Achiaa scored in the 80th minute, followed by Esther Asamoah five minutes later. Afia Boaduwaa Twumwaa sealed the emphatic win in stoppage time, completing the 5-1 triumph.

Army Ladies will now meet rivals Hasaacas Ladies in the final, aiming to lift the trophy for the first time since their victory over Police Ladies two seasons ago.
