A three-year-old boy, Christopher Amponsah, has died after a swarm of bees attacked residents in Wawaase, a suburb of Agona Swedru in the Agona West Municipality, Central Region.
The incident also left ten others injured, six of whom are receiving treatment at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital, while four have been treated and discharged.

Speaking, Paul K. Appleh, Deputy Director for Technical at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Agona West Municipality, revealed that the incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Friday when a swarm of bees attacked residents in the area.

He explained that while many residents managed to flee to safety, the young boy was unable to escape the attack.
Mr. Appleh added that teams from NADMO and the Ghana National Fire Service were quickly dispatched to the scene to contain the situation.

Mr. Appleh also confirmed that the bees have been sprayed to prevent further attacks and assured that all other injured victims are responding well to treatment.
