Twifo Akutuase Chief Urges Government to Address Water, Education, and Infrastructure Challenges

Nana Kojo Botwey I, the chief of Twifo Akutuase in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District, has made an urgent appeal to the government to tackle the community’s pressing challenges, including the severe shortage of potable water, lack of qualified teachers, and inadequate educational infrastructure.

Although the community has hired six local teachers to improve education, the financial burden remains heavy.

Compounding the situation, a dangerously deteriorating bridge in the area poses a serious risk to residents and requires immediate reconstruction.

In a bid to address the water crisis, community members collectively invested around 270,000 Ghana cedis to construct a mechanized borehole, highlighting their commitment to finding local solutions despite limited resources.

Nana Botwey I called on Hon. Theophilus T.D. Vondee, the Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, to provide the necessary support to ensure better access to clean water, qualified teachers, and improved school facilities.

Community members echoed the chief’s concerns, appealing for assistance from the MP, the Deputy CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Daakyehene Akwesi Ankerah, and government authorities.

Mr. Kofi Pentle, chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association, stressed that despite the ongoing efforts of school leaders, the challenges persist with little improvement, underscoring the urgent need for external support.
