Black Stars’ Semenyo: Austria Friendly a Chance to Show World Cup Readiness

Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo says the upcoming friendly against Austria offers the perfect chance for Ghana to signal their readiness for the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana will take on Austria in the first of two friendlies during the March international break, part of their preparations for the global tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will mark Ghana’s fifth appearance since their debut in Germany in 2006, and Semenyo, who plays for Manchester City, is confident the team is ready for the challenge ahead.

“Hopefully, we can get a win. We want to make a statement that we are preparing for the World Cup,” Semenyo said ahead of the match.

After facing Austria, the Black Stars will meet Germany three days later before returning to their respective clubs.
