Ghana Police Tighten Security Nationwide Ahead of Easter Celebrations

The Ghana Police Service has announced intensified security measures nationwide ahead of the Easter festivities, aimed at ensuring a safe and peaceful holiday.

In a statement issued on Thursday, April 2, the Service said personnel have been strategically deployed to key locations, including event venues, recreational centres and major tourist sites. Special attention is being given to the Kwahu area, which traditionally attracts large crowds during the Easter period.

Police visibility has also been increased along major routes leading to and from Kwahu, with traffic officers positioned to manage congestion and ensure the smooth flow of vehicles. Intelligence units have been activated across the country to monitor and respond swiftly to any potential security threats.

The Service is urging the public to remain alert, cooperate with security personnel and adhere to all safety guidelines. Motorists have been reminded to obey traffic regulations, avoid speeding and drunk driving, and comply with directions from law enforcement officers.

Members of the public are also encouraged to protect their personal belongings and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or officer.

The Police Service wished Ghanaians a safe and enjoyable Easter, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive season.
