The Chief of Akotorsu in the Asawase Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Nana Osei Gyabi II, has appealed to the government to urgently improve access to basic social amenities in the community.

He expressed deep concern over the poor state of roads in the area, describing them as a major setback to economic activity.
According to him, the deteriorating road network has made it difficult for residents, including business owners, to move around and carry out their daily activities.
The chief also highlighted several other challenges facing the community, including a lack of potable drinking water, inadequate school infrastructure, and the absence of public sanitation facilities.

He said these long-standing issues continue to hinder development in Akotorsu and have left residents frustrated.
Nana Osei Gyabi II made the appeal during a visit by Johnson Asiedu Nketia to the Asawase Constituency as part of his “Thank You Tour.” He used the opportunity to call for government intervention to address unemployment, particularly among the youth.
He stressed that young people in Asawase are in urgent need of jobs and urged the government not to overlook their concerns.

Also speaking at the event, the Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed, outlined some of the development projects undertaken in the constituency.
These include the construction of schools, provision of boreholes, road works, and other social amenities.

For his part, Mr. Asiedu Nketia thanked residents of Asawase for their strong support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections.
He assured them that the government, led by John Dramani Mahama, is working to fulfil its campaign promises and urged residents to remain patient and continue supporting the administration.
