KGL Group of Companies has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate responsibility and national development with the payment of GHS 153 million in corporate income tax to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The payment was announced at a tax compliance ceremony held at the GRA Head Office in Accra.
The event marked a key milestone in the Group’s ongoing contribution to Ghana’s economic growth, reinforcing its position that tax compliance goes beyond a legal requirement and forms part of a shared responsibility in building a stronger and more sustainable economy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Alex Apau Dadey, said the company is guided by a philosophy of long-term value creation and accountability.
“At KGL, we create value, and we share that value responsibly. Paying tax is not a burden; it is our contribution from what we have achieved as a business operating in this country. It is how we give back to the community that makes our success possible,” he said.
He further disclosed that in 2025 alone, the Group made total direct payments of GHS 350 million to the state, including GHS 180 million paid to the National Lottery Authority (NLA). According to him, these obligations are fully embraced as part of the company’s responsibility to the country.
Mr Dadey added that KGL’s contributions reflect the growing strength of indigenous Ghanaian companies in driving national development, noting that local firms have both the capacity and discipline to support Ghana’s economic agenda while remaining globally competitive.
Beyond taxation, the Group continues to expand its social impact through the KGL Foundation, which has committed over GHS 40 million to community development projects. It also supports several national initiatives, including sponsorship of the Black Stars and the Regional U-17 Colts Championship, as well as infrastructure projects such as the KGL–EVE Medical Centre in Kumasi and the Alex Dadey University of Ghana Alumni Centre.
The ceremony was facilitated by Dr Martin Kolbil Yamborigya, who commended KGL Group for its strong compliance record, noting that such contributions are vital for strengthening domestic revenue mobilisation and supporting government development priorities.
KGL Group also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his continued advocacy for indigenous enterprise growth. The company said it aligns with his vision of moving from transactional participation to transformational partnerships in building a more self-reliant economy.
