Black Stars midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has praised teammate Thomas Partey, describing him as an “amazing” player following their time together in the national team.
Before a long-term injury sidelined him, Kyereh featured alongside Partey for Ghana at both the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars exited at the group stage on both occasions.
Now back from injury, the 30-year-old midfielder—who plays for SC Freiburg—reflected on his career and national team experience in an interview with Joy Sports.
Speaking about Partey, Kyereh did not hold back in his admiration.
“It’s a pleasure to play with him,” he said. “I always saw him as a really good player on television before I met him in the national team, but training with him showed me his quality from a completely different perspective. He’s so good—what a player, what an amazing player.”
Since returning to action, Kyereh has been featuring for Freiburg’s U23 side as he works his way back to full fitness and pushes for a return to first-team football.
