The Dormaa East Director of the Youth Employment Agency, Hon. Alan Afi Isaac, has announced the payment of three months’ outstanding allowances to recruits serving under the Agency’s Community Police, Fire and Ambulance support modules.
He said the move is intended to motivate recruits to remain committed to their duties and support their respective institutions effectively.
Hon. Isaac acknowledged that delays in payments had affected morale among some recruits, leading to reduced interest in their work. With the arrears now cleared, he urged them to renew their dedication and maintain punctuality.
He also relayed a directive from the Agency’s leadership, warning that recruits who fail to report to work regularly and on time will not be validated for payment in any given month.
The District Director assured recruits that efforts are underway to address the issue of delayed allowances permanently, with the aim of improving motivation and productivity.
Touching on conditions of service, he explained that YEA contracts run for two years and may be renewed based on performance. He stressed that only recruits who demonstrate commitment, discipline and diligence would be considered for renewal, adding that those who take a lax approach to their duties should not expect an extension.
Hon. Isaac, however, expressed satisfaction with the improved punctuality among recruits following the payment of arrears and commended them for their renewed effort.
