Emelia Ankomah Cuts Sod for New Maternity Block to Serve Asma Camp and Zion Camp

The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East, Hon. Lawyer Emelia Ankomah, has officially cut the sod for the construction of a new maternity block for the people of Asma Camp and Zion Camp.

The project, which is being financed through the MP’s Common Fund allocation, is aimed at improving maternal healthcare services and reducing maternal deaths in the two communities. Hon. Ankomah disclosed that the facility is expected to be completed by December 2026.

Residents and community elders from Asma Camp and Zion Camp have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will greatly improve access to healthcare for women and children.

Speaking to the media during the ceremony, the Municipal Health Director, Dr. Daniel Arcolor, stressed the importance of the maternity block in enhancing maternal and child healthcare delivery in the area.

He also called on traditional authorities to make land available for more health and development projects, while commending Hon. Emelia Ankomah for her dedication to improving healthcare in the constituency.
