Swiss performance brand On has expanded its presence in elite sprinting with the launch of the On Athletics Club (OAC) Sprint team, marking a new phase in its global athletics strategy.
Based in Los Angeles, the newly formed elite squad is designed to compete at the highest level of international sprinting while also engaging a younger, global audience through sport and culture.
The launch builds on the wider On Athletics Club (OAC) system, which brings together teams under a shared performance philosophy centred on collaboration and long-term athlete development. The model serves both as a high-performance platform for winning major championships and as a testing ground for innovations that feed into the brand’s running technology.
Speaking on the launch, On founder Olivier Bernhard said sprinting represents the purest expression of human performance, adding that the new team reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the discipline. He noted that beyond winning medals, the goal is to build a culture and community capable of inspiring the next generation of athletes.
The OAC Sprint team will be based in the greater Los Angeles area, a global hub for sport and entertainment and the host region for the 2028 Olympic Games. The programme will be led by coach John “JB” Bolton, alongside sport scientist and strength and conditioning specialist Harrison Smith.
Bolton brings extensive coaching experience across collegiate and elite levels, including his role at the University of Southern California (USC), where he has developed athletes into world championship finalists and Olympic medallists.

The legacy continues with the newly formed OAC Sprint roster, which brings together a mix of elite international sprint talent under coach John “JB” Bolton.
Ghanaian Olympian and two-time African Games medalist Benjamin Azamati headlines the group, reuniting with Coach Bolton as a key figure in the team’s setup. He is joined by a strong lineup of American NCAA stars, including reigning NCAA 100m champion Samirah Moody and 100m runner-up Max Thomas, both known for their explosive speed over the sprint distances. The squad also features six-time NCAA All-American Johnny Brackins, a standout in the 110m and 400m hurdles.
Coach Bolton said he is excited about the project and the calibre of athletes involved, describing the team as the foundation of something long-term and purpose-driven in global sprinting. According to him, the goal is not only to compete at the highest level but also to build a strong team culture that inspires the next generation of athletes.
