For years, OgeeTheMC has held the fort as an exceptional supporting performer on both local and international stages.
From energizing audience with apt vocal interjections to brewing chants on stage for a memorable experience at concerts, few names resonate with as much originality, energy, influence, and authenticity as OgeeTheMC.
Before the spotlight, he was the voice behind many successful local events, school functions, and parties; a hobby he turned into a skill and an art. His charisma was undeniable; the microphone became his magic wand to ‘electrify’ the crowd.
These formative years laid the foundation for what has now become a groundbreaking career and a craft many young MCs want to adopt.
Pioneer of the MC/Hypeman movement
OgeeTheMC didn’t follow a path; he built one. In the early 2010s, the concept of a ‘Hypeman’ in the Ghanaian music space was virtually non-existent. Artistes performed mostly solo, and the idea of a dedicated MC sharing the stage was met with skepticism. But OgeeTheMC saw something different. He envisioned a concept where the MC was just not an accessory but an amplifier of energy, and a bridge between the artiste and his/ her audience.
“I started something that didn’t exist here,” he shared in a recent interview. “People didn’t understand it at first. They mocked it. But I knew what I was building.”
His idea was replicated at the Ghana Meets Naija concert, when Tiwa Savage performed with her own hypeman. That moment validated his vision and gave skeptics a clearer understanding of what he was about. Today, the craft he pioneered is embraced across the country, as he stands as a big inspiration to the MCs and hypemen in the business.
Discovering Ebony Reigns
One of the most defining chapters in Ogee’s journey was his early encounter with the late Ebony Reigns. Their first meeting was electric. At a club event where legendary music group VIP was promoting a project, Ogee noticed a young woman with undeniable charisma.
“It felt like someone I already knew,” he recalled.
He believed in her before the world did, mentoring her through her early music steps. When she sent him her first songs, he called her within seconds, stunned by the raw power of her voice. His belief in her talent was unwavering.

The Stonebwoy Synergy
OgeeTheMC’s partnership with Reggae, Afro-Dancehall pioneer Stonebwoy, has produced one of the most iconic ‘duo’ in African music. From local stages to international arenas like London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Reggae Geel, Afro Nation, Electric Brixton, Ogee has added a refreshing touch to Stonebwoy’s performances. Their synergy is electric, proof that the right voice can amplify greatness.
The Poetic Prelude
At the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), OgeeTheMC delivered one of the most unforgettable moments of the night. Before Stonebwoy’s performance, he stepped into the spotlight—alone, dressed in black—and offered a poetic recital that left the audience in awe of reverence for the act yet to be witnessed.
“A reigning king for over a decade, decade in the game, and he’s still loud around the world like a new sound, sound so good even the blind can easily spot him, cos he’s HIM
Afro dancehall to the universe, he said
Ooh Oui, what a time to be alive, no dead moments when he arrives
Every rock thrown at him is a stepping–stone, cos he’s the living stone
Darkness has no space around him cos he is the Torcher. I wonder why they keep testing him when he already got his degree and is doing his Masters
He’s done with school, y’all are still in class, and you still miss
I can’t even make this up, cos you do know who’s UP
When you see me on stage?
Ghana, Accra, ladies and gentlemen, I go by the name OgeeTheMc get up on your feet for the reigning artist of the year 1GAD”
His entry performance at the TGMA wasn’t just hype—it was a spiritual prelude. His words honoured and re-echoed the trajectory of Stonebwoy’s journey on the Ghanaian music scene; from the streets of Ashaiman to the world stage. When Stonebwoy emerged on the TGMA stage, the transition from his spoken word to the live music performance was seamless. It was pure art.
The Torcher EP Intro
Lyrically, OgeeTheMC laid his fingerprints on the much talked about “Torcher EP” from Stonebwoy. He graced this masterpiece with a befitting introduction (intro) to the EP, adding depth, soul, and the art of storytelling to Stonebwoy’s signature sound. This feat earned him a spot on Apple Music’s top 20 songs, the first ever MC from the Ghanaian music scene to earn this enviable accolade.
OgeeTheMC isn’t just focused on the spotlight; he’s advocating for structural change. In multiple interviews, he has called for major events in Ghana to expand beyond Accra. He believes decentralizingevents will unlock talent in places across the regions, giving artistes the visibility they deserve.

The MCs Workshop
With his upcoming workshop dubbed ‘The MCs Workshop‘, OgeeTheMC has expressed his willingness to empower the youth with the requisite skills in his field, to position them well enough to take up viable MC/Hypeman jobs in the industry.
Today, we celebrate the voice that has shaped the soundscape of Ghanaian entertainment, redefining what it means to hold a microphone as a Hypeman. OgeeTheMC didn’t just find his voice; he gave one to the culture.
