The J.J. Rawlings Foundation has expressed its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Dr Mohammed Ben Abdallah, describing him as a stalwart statesman and visionary leader who left an enduring mark on Ghana’s educational landscape.

In a statement signed by Kobina Andoh Amoakwa, the Foundation recalled Dr Abdallah’s tireless efforts in reshaping Ghana’s education system in the late 1980s.

He is credited with playing a key role in introducing the Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School concept, as well as the implementation of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

“His commitment to educational reform has had a lasting impact on the lives of countless Ghanaians,” the Foundation said.

Beyond education, the statement highlighted Dr Abdallah’s humility, honesty, and dedication to public service. His integrity and work ethic, it noted, earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and the wider Ghanaian society.

The J.J. Rawlings Foundation paid tribute to his legacy, saying it would continue to inspire future generations.

“May his memory be a blessing to us all. May God comfort his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
