Bibiani–Kumasi Highway Crash: Toyota Voxy and Honda Civic Collision Leaves Passengers Injured

A road crash involving two passenger vehicles left several people seriously injured on Sunday evening along the Bibiani–Kumasi highway.

The accident occurred on April 12, 2026, near the Lineso barrier, when a Toyota Voxy and a Honda Civic collided.

Rescue teams from the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ambulance Service, and local residents rushed to the scene to assist victims.

The injured were subsequently transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

According to the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, DO I Enoch Tetteh, no fatalities were recorded, but several victims sustained severe injuries.

However, Mr Tetteh expressed concern over the conduct of some community members during emergency responses, noting that their actions often hinder rescue operations.

“Community members sometimes prevent us from carrying out our mandate effectively at accident and fire scenes,” he said.

He also used the opportunity to caution drivers against speeding, which he identified as a major cause of road accidents.

He further advised vehicle owners to ensure that only experienced drivers are entrusted with their vehicles in order to help reduce crashes and save lives.
