The Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, has disclosed that the abandoned Dormaa Danyame Community Day Senior High School (E-Block) cannot be completed with the Legacy Projects Fund recently allocated to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
According to the MCE, the funds released by the government are intended to support the completion of selected critical abandoned projects across the country, following a directive from President John Dramani Mahama. However, he explained that the amount allocated is insufficient to complete the Dormaa Danyame E-Block project.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwaku Mensah Abrampa on GIFTs FM, Hon. Adoma Ameyaw called on politicians to desist from spreading misinformation and propaganda on the matter. He said public officials have a responsibility to be honest with citizens rather than creating false expectations.
He noted that suggestions that the Legacy Projects Fund could fully finance the completion of the Dormaa Danyame E-Block are misleading, stressing that the project requires a dedicated funding source.
The MCE further revealed that the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, led by the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, together with the Dormaa Central Member of Parliament and himself, paid a courtesy call on President Mahama at the Jubilee House last week.
During the meeting, he said, the President assured the delegation that abandoned E-Block projects across the country would be captured in the next national budget to secure dedicated funding for their completion.
Hon. Adoma Ameyaw therefore appealed to residents of Danyame to remain patient, assuring them that the government is committed to completing the Community Day Senior High School.
He added that several other development projects are also being planned for the community.
Touching on the health sector, the MCE urged Members of Parliament from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to avoid politicising ongoing government health infrastructure projects.
He maintained that President Mahama remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery by facilitating the completion of several Agenda 111 hospital projects, as well as the Afari Military Hospital, to improve access to quality healthcare across the country.
