Minor Hotels enters West Africa with signing of NH Collection Accra project

Minor Hotels has announced the signing of NH Collection Accra, marking the brand’s first property in Ghana, with an expected opening in 2030.

The agreement was formalised during THINC Middle East 2026, reflecting the group’s continued expansion into key gateway cities across Africa.

The 200-room hotel will be located in the heart of Accra, Ghana’s capital and commercial centre. It will form part of a modern mixed-use development designed to combine hospitality, retail, and office spaces, with easy access to key government, corporate, and diplomatic areas. The site is also situated near Jubilee House and within convenient reach of Kotoka International Airport.

The project is being developed by Swami India Ghana Limited, a diversified property firm with experience across West Africa and the Middle East. The wider development will include hotel, retail, and office components aimed at creating a vibrant urban destination in Accra.

Once completed, NH Collection Accra is expected to serve the growing demand from corporate, diplomatic, and long-stay travellers, aligning with the city’s expanding role as a regional business hub.

Commenting on the signing, Amir Golbarg, Chief Operations Officer for Middle East & Africa at Minor Hotels, said the company is pleased to bring the NH Collection brand to Ghana.

“We are delighted to introduce the NH Collection brand to Ghana, one of West Africa’s most dynamic and promising markets. We look forward to working with Swami India Ghana Limited to bring this project to life,” he said.

Chairman of Swami India Ghana Limited, Mr Dinesh G. Gorasiya, described the agreement as an important milestone for the company.

He said the project reflects their commitment to delivering internationally aligned developments that support Ghana’s economic growth.

“Bringing the first Minor Hotels brand to West Africa reflects our strategic commitment to delivering premium hospitality assets. We are confident NH Collection Accra will enhance the city’s appeal as a destination for both business and leisure,” he said.
