The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has revealed that the Ministry of Finance has committed to supporting key reforms and investment initiatives designed to drive sustainable growth and transformation within Ghana’s energy sector.
Speaking after a high-level meeting between the two ministries on Tuesday, June 30, Dr Jinapor said the engagement provided agencies under the Energy Ministry with an opportunity to present their operational priorities, ongoing projects and funding needs.
He described the discussions as constructive and timely, noting that they were crucial to securing the support needed to advance critical projects across the sector.
According to the Minister, the talks centred on deepening collaboration between the Energy and Finance ministries to ensure the effective implementation of reforms in the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors.
Dr Jinapor emphasised that stronger coordination among government institutions is essential to delivering reliable, efficient and sustainable energy services to Ghanaians while positioning the sector for long-term growth.

Dr Jinapor also expressed gratitude to the Minister for Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson, for his willingness to support the Ministry’s agenda.
He said he was encouraged by the Finance Minister’s commitment, along with that of his team, to work closely with the Energy Ministry and provide the support needed to drive its key priorities.
According to Dr Jinapor, the collaboration aligns with the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to reset and transform Ghana’s energy sector, laying the foundation for sustainable growth and improved performance across the industry.

He said the government remains firmly committed to pursuing policies aimed at strengthening energy security, attracting investment and promoting the long-term sustainability of the sector. According to him, close collaboration among government ministries will continue to play a crucial role in achieving these goals and driving the sector’s growth and resilience.
