Ashanti Region: Dompoase Chief Praises NDC’s Road Projects During Asiedu Nketiah’s Thank You Tour

Nana Okofo Kwabena Bonsu, Chief of Dompoase in the Fomena Constituency, has commended the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for what he describes as its strong contribution to the development of his community—particularly in road infrastructure.

He made the remarks when the NDC’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, visited Dompoase during the second phase of the party’s nationwide “Thank You Tour.”

Addressing party executives and supporters, the chief expressed satisfaction with projects undertaken during previous NDC administrations, noting that their impact is still visible and continues to benefit residents.

“I support any government that is committed to developing my town and the country,” Nana Bonsu said.

“On that basis, I can confidently say the NDC has not disappointed us, especially with the roads within our township.”

His comments are seen as a notable endorsement for the NDC in the Ashanti Region, widely regarded as a stronghold of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The chief stressed that his priority remains the development and well-being of his people, rather than political alignment.

Beyond the praise, Nana Bonsu also advised the party’s leadership to stay focused and disciplined as they prepare for future elections.

“You must remain vigilant and work to build a country that benefits everyone,” he urged, emphasizing that good governance should translate into real improvements in people’s lives.

In response, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah thanked the chief and the people of Dompoase for their warm reception and acknowledgment of the party’s efforts.

He reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to prioritising rural development and infrastructure.

The “Thank You Tour,” he explained, is part of the party’s efforts to reconnect with traditional authorities, grassroots supporters, and the general public following its internal elections, while also building momentum ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The second phase of the tour is continuing across the Ashanti Region, with visits planned to several constituencies to engage residents and outline the party’s vision.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for Fomena, Hon. Charles Kofi Ogbeh, also used the occasion to highlight a number of development projects undertaken within the district.
