Asiedu Nketia assures Upper East Region: “We will live by every promise we made”

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has assured residents of the Upper East Region that the party will deliver on its development commitments following its electoral victory.

Speaking to party supporters in the Nabdam Constituency as part of his “Thank You Tour,” Mr Asiedu Nketia expressed gratitude to residents for their continued support and said the party is determined to justify the confidence placed in it.

“We are not only grateful in words, but we will live by every promise we made. By the end of the four-year term, the region will be better than it was in 2024,” he said.

He outlined ongoing infrastructure plans aimed at improving living conditions, particularly major road projects across the region. According to him, several key road corridors linking the Upper East Region to other parts of the country are currently under construction, with multiple contractors working simultaneously to speed up delivery.

“We recognise the poor state and long stretches of these roads, so we have divided the work into lots to ensure faster completion,” he explained. “The goal is to improve access for residents and support economic activity.”

Mr Asiedu Nketia added that the NDC government, led by John Dramani Mahama, is focused on delivering visible and practical development outcomes.

“We prefer to deliver results rather than just talk about them,” he said.

He also noted that the Upper East Region continues to play an important role in national governance, with several key officials coming from the area.

He encouraged residents to remain patient and confident, assuring them that development projects would be inclusive and impactful.

Speaking on behalf of traditional leaders, Samuel Namoog, Chief of Kotentabig, appealed to the government to urgently address poor road conditions affecting farmers, as well as challenges in education, healthcare, the Agenda 111 hospital project, and access to potable water.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for Nabdam, Francis Yenwona Tobig, also highlighted ongoing development projects within the district aimed at improving local infrastructure and services.
