The Nkoranza North District Assembly has officially handed over the site for the construction of an ultra-modern 24-hour economy market at Kranka in the Bono East Region.

The project, which forms part of the NDC government’s flagship 24-hour economy initiative, is expected to stimulate commercial activities, create jobs, and strengthen the local economy.
The official handover ceremony took place on May 13, 2026, and was attended by Assembly officials, traditional leaders, contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and residents of the area.

Addressing the gathering, the District Chief Executive for Nkoranza North, Hon. Effah Patrick, popularly known as Patoo, described the project as a major investment aimed at expanding economic opportunities and improving trading conditions for residents.
According to him, the modern market facility demonstrates the Assembly’s commitment to infrastructure development and local economic empowerment, particularly for traders within the Kranka enclave and surrounding communities.
“The NDC government remains committed to addressing key challenges facing our communities, especially in the areas of roads, school infrastructure, healthcare, and markets,” Hon. Effah Patrick stated.
He explained that the project is designed to provide a well-organised and conducive trading environment capable of supporting round-the-clock commercial activities in line with the government’s 24-hour economy agenda.

The proposed market complex is expected to include a nursery school, clinic, fire service station, police post, pharmacy, and banking facilities.
Construction works will be undertaken by 2K Planners Construction and is expected to be completed within two and a half years.
Hon. Effah Patrick commended John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to infrastructure and economic development across the country.

He also praised the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Joseph Kwasi Mensah, for his continued support towards the district’s development efforts.
The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to pursuing projects and policies that will attract investment, drive economic growth, and improve the living conditions of residents in the district.
