MTN Ghana Names Richard Acheampong to Lead Home Broadband Expansion

MTN Ghana has announced the appointment of Richard Acheampong as Chief Home Officer, effective November 1, 2025.

The appointment forms part of the company’s strategy to strengthen and expand its Home broadband and digital services segment, as demand for reliable high-speed internet continues to grow across Ghana.

Mr Acheampong brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience spanning telecommunications, brewing, and advertising. Within the MTN Group, he has held several key roles across different markets, including Chief Consumer Officer at MTN Zambia and Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Rwanda.

In those positions, he played a central role in shaping consumer strategy, driving customer-focused innovation, and supporting revenue and market growth.

In his new role, he will oversee the strategic direction, expansion, and operational performance of MTN Home, with responsibility for delivering improved and future-ready connectivity solutions for households across the country.

Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Blewett, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, said Mr Acheampong’s experience and commercial insight make him well-suited to lead the next phase of growth for the Home business.

“As Home broadband becomes increasingly central to how Ghanaians work, learn and live, his leadership will be critical to delivering superior customer experiences,” he said.

The appointment reflects MTN Ghana’s ongoing commitment to strengthening leadership capacity as it advances its Ambition 2030 strategy and continues building a more resilient, customer-focused, and digitally driven business.
