Adamus CEO Angela List Denies Galamsey Links, Insists Company Operates Responsibly

The Chief Executive Officer of Adamus Resources Limited, Angela List, has strongly denied allegations linking the company to illegal mining, insisting the firm has consistently operated as a responsible large-scale mining entity.

She said the company has submitted extensive documentary evidence to back its position and is confident the materials will help address concerns raised by the Minerals Commission as government reviews the matter.

Speaking after presenting a petition on Thursday, April 30, Ms List maintained that Adamus has, over the years, taken deliberate steps to combat illegal mining rather than engage in it.

“As a mining leaseholder, we have no reason to be involved in illegal mining. We have provided ample evidence of the measures we have taken to fight the menace, and I will never condone such activities,” she said.

Her remarks follow the government’s decision to revoke the company’s mining lease after findings of alleged regulatory breaches, including claims of illegal mining, environmental violations and unauthorised subcontracting.

In response, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has set up a ministerial committee to review the company’s petition for reconsideration, while an interim management team has been deployed to oversee operations at the mine.

Ms List expressed optimism that the petition would receive fair consideration, stressing that the evidence submitted directly challenges the allegations made against the company.

She described the situation as unfortunate and thanked workers, partners, financial institutions and the media for their support, while also commending staff for their resilience.

The CEO further acknowledged the roles of the President and the Lands Minister, noting that the company has been given the opportunity to be heard under due process.

She reaffirmed Adamus Resources’ commitment to cooperating fully with any supervisory measures put in place as the review process continues.
