Cyberteq, a leading cybersecurity consulting firm in Ghana, has officially become a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, making it the first dedicated cybersecurity consulting company in West Africa to join the initiative.
The move positions the company among a growing network of businesses promoting responsible corporate governance, sustainability, and ethical business practices within Ghana’s ICT sector and beyond.
The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, bringing together companies committed to aligning their operations with principles focused on human rights, labour standards, environmental responsibility, and anti-corruption.
Cyberteq’s admission into the initiative reflects its commitment to strengthening its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda while contributing to global efforts aimed at promoting responsible business conduct.
To mark the milestone, the company hosted officials from the UN Global Compact Network Ghana, including Executive Director Tolu Kweku Lacroix and Participant Engagement and Outreach Manager Mina Pokuaa Agyemang, for an onboarding and engagement session.
The session focused on the principles of the Compact, its expectations, and the broader role businesses can play in addressing global challenges through innovation, accountability, and sustainable growth.
Speaking on the development, CEO of Cyberteq Ghana, Ben Tagoe, described the move as more than a symbolic affiliation, saying it represents a long-term commitment to embedding responsible and sustainable practices into the company’s operations.
“As technology continues to shape economies and societies, businesses have a responsibility to ensure innovation is guided by integrity, inclusion, and sustainability,” he said. “Joining the UN Global Compact reinforces our resolve to contribute meaningfully to a safer, more transparent, and more sustainable future.”
The development comes at a time when businesses across Africa are facing increasing pressure from regulators, investors, and stakeholders to demonstrate stronger ESG standards and responsible corporate governance.
For Cyberteq, which specialises in cybersecurity and digital transformation solutions, the initiative aligns with its broader vision of helping organisations adopt technology securely and responsibly.
Industry analysts say the move reflects a growing trend among African technology firms seeking to align with internationally recognised sustainability frameworks and strengthen their global credibility.
By joining the UN Global Compact, Cyberteq now becomes part of a worldwide network of companies working toward the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advancing responsible corporate leadership.
