Work under the government’s flagship BIG PUSH Agenda is set to begin in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency of the Central Region, with contractors already mobilising to project sites.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Alhaji Kobina Ghansah, made this known during a tour of ongoing road projects with GhOne News journalist Yaw Boagyan.

He assured residents that the initiative, championed by President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government, will bring significant improvement to infrastructure across the constituency.
According to him, the planned BIG PUSH road will stretch from Breman Asikuma Township through Amanfopong and other surrounding communities, as earlier promised during his campaign.

He further revealed that additional efforts are underway to improve inner roads and cocoa evacuation tracks across various communities before the end of his tenure.

“I inherited some of the most deplorable roads in the constituency, but we have managed to reshape many of them, especially the routes leading to rural communities,” Hon. Ghansah stated.

He urged constituents to continue to trust him and the NDC, describing the party as one committed to prioritising the welfare of Ghanaians. “As MP, I will ensure that all roads are improved,” he added.

Beyond road infrastructure, the MP noted that his share of the Common Fund has been used to support several development projects, including the construction of schools, mechanised boreholes, and CHPS compounds.
He also pledged to deliver on all campaign promises, including the extension of electricity and the provision of potable water to underserved communities.

Some residents who spoke during the visit expressed appreciation for the ongoing road improvements, saying the work has eased transportation challenges in the area.

“The NDC is the only party that has consistently fulfilled its promises since independence,” one resident said, adding that they remain hopeful the MP will address other pressing needs such as water and electricity.

Others also pledged continued support for the MP, describing his performance as commendable and calling for his re-election for another term.
