GFA Announces 2026/27 Ghana Premier League Calendar, Season Kicks Off in September

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the schedule for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, outlining key dates for the new campaign.

According to the FA, the season will kick off over the weekend of September 4–7, 2026, and conclude between May 28–31, 2027. This aligns with the approved 2026/27 football calendar.

As has been the tradition, most league fixtures will be played on weekends, while midweek slots will be reserved strictly for outstanding or rescheduled matches.

The announcement was confirmed by the Ghana Premier League, which also indicated that full fixture details will be released in due course.

In a related development, the FA has also set dates for the 2026/27 Access Bank Division One League season.

That competition will begin over the weekend of September 18–21, 2026, with opening matches scheduled across all three zones. The season is expected to run until May 24, 2027, covering a total of 30 match weekends.

Unlike the Premier League, the Division One League will maintain a strict weekend-only schedule, with no midweek fixtures planned for the season.
