Kintampo South’s Sanitation Standards Improving, Says DCE After Successful Clean-Up Exercise

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kintampo South District in the Bono East Region, Hon. Wilfred Zuuri, says sanitation standards in the district have improved significantly compared to previous years, attributing the progress to sustained efforts by a sanitation committee established under his administration.

Speaking to journalists during a community clean-up exercise, Hon. Zuuri commended the committee members for their dedication and contribution towards maintaining a cleaner environment across the district.

According to him, although he has been in office for just over a year, his administration remains committed to improving sanitation and promoting cleanliness in communities to help prevent the outbreak of diseases.

He noted that Kintampo South District has 28 electoral areas, while Jema alone comprises three electoral areas — Jema East, Jema West and Jema Nkwanta. He said he regularly engages Assembly Members and encourages them to mobilise residents in their respective communities whenever clean-up exercises are organised.

The DCE stressed that sanitation should not be treated as a one-day activity but rather a shared responsibility that requires continuous community participation.

He therefore urged residents to take personal responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean instead of waiting to be reminded.

“People should make it a habit to clean their homes, compounds and immediate environment regularly. Maintaining a clean environment is essential for protecting public health and ensuring the wellbeing of our communities,” he advised.
