Missing UCC Level 200 Student Found Dead Along Cape Coast Shoreline

A 25-year-old Level 200 student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), identified as Innocentia Avinu, has been found dead after being reported missing following an off-campus visit.

Reports indicate that Innocentia left campus on Thursday but failed to return to her hostel as expected. Concern grew among friends after they were unable to reach her by phone, prompting her family to file a missing person report on Friday.

Her body was later discovered along the shoreline in Cape Coast under circumstances that are currently under investigation.

Unverified reports circulating on social media suggest that she had left a hotel with friends to swim at a beach believed to be Hutchland Beach. A photo allegedly showing her at the location has also been widely shared online, but authorities have not confirmed its authenticity or the details surrounding the incident.

The body has since been transferred to the morgue, where an autopsy is expected to help determine the exact cause of death.

Police have yet to issue a detailed statement as investigations continue into the circumstances leading to her death.

The incident has triggered widespread grief across the university community and beyond, with students, friends, and members of the public expressing condolences while calling for a thorough investigation into the tragedy.
