C/R: Armed Men Allegedly Storm Millennium City, Demolish Under-Construction Masalachi Building

Residents of Ademukrom at Millennium City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region were left in shock in the early hours of Tuesday after a group of armed men, believed to be military personnel, reportedly stormed the area and demolished a building under construction.

Eyewitnesses say the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. when about 50 uniformed men arrived at the site. The group, allegedly led by a senior officer identified as Mr. Olanyo, reportedly ordered the immediate pull-down of a “masalachi” structure that was still being built.

One resident, who said the building was on his family’s land, recounted that the armed men arrived with an excavator and began demolishing the structure without any prior notice. He also alleged that he and his family were held at gunpoint during the operation.

“The whole experience was terrifying. We felt completely helpless,” he said, describing how the presence of armed personnel threw the entire community into panic.

The incident has left many residents fearful, with some saying it adds to a growing sense of intimidation they have experienced in the area.

Community members are now appealing to authorities, including the Inspector General of Police and the Ministry of the Interior, to step in and investigate the matter.
